Rockets

In this workshop students learn about the various topics involved in rocket making.

We will learn about :

  • The forces affecting rockets

  • The history and types of rockets over the ages

  • The shapes involved to make them aerodynamic.

Students then use the knowledge gained to create and design their very own rocket. Each rocket is launched to ascertain which design reaches the greatest altitude.

Suitable for:

  • Year classes 1 to 6

Venue requirements:

  • Access to classroom projector, computer and screen.

  • Tables and chairs for students to work at while constructing their rockets.

  • Access to outdoors – school playing field or yard. Rockets typically reach 20ft in height and can travel far from launch spot on windy days.
