Out of Mainstream Education Centres

Working alongside organisations such as The Princes Trust, AstroCymru’s workshops have proven benefits to enhance learning with pupils out of mainstream education. Pupils gain various skills including creative thinking, critical thinking and teamwork as well as independent working through fun, engaging hands-on activities. Here’s some feedback from a teacher at a Learning Pathway Centre

“The young people participated well and for many of our students that in itself was a big achievement. Due to the nature of our establishment the young people have varied needs and your sessions met a lot of them. Your delivery put them at ease which enabled them to relax, ask and answer questions which many of them struggle to do especially in group activities. The young people said you were inspirational, and they have been inspired by you. Your passion for the subject certainly came across, many of the students learned new things, it has started interesting conversations at the LPC and creative juices have been ignited.

Every young person has taken something away from these workshops, some have been inspired and are thinking about their future in the space industry. Others have gained confidence, others have changed their attitude towards space, that it’s not just for scientists and out of reach, but for everyone.”
